Nude
Starting this week, I've changed my hours at work, so I now work 7.35am (ish... whenever my bus gets me here) to 4.05pm ish.  It's so much better for me.  I love the fact that I can sit at my desk in the mornings, eating creamy porridge from the canteen, catch up on emails and my to-do list and anything else I need, and even write the odd LJ entry, all without interruption.  It reminds me of Barbican mornings when I used to come in at 7.45am and have half my day's work done by the time the staff arrived at 8.45am.

On another work related note, have any of you heard of or do you use this LinkedIn site?  Everyone at work seems to consider having a profile on there a standard part of their working lives.  I'd never even heard of it until I joined the corporate world, but apparently it's a prerequisite.  Is it something I should be 'on'?

WHERE I COME FROM:
Yorkshire/London

WHAT DO YOU CALL:
1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks?
Stream or brook
2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called?
Trolley
3. A metal container to carry a meal in?
Eh? Can’t think of anything that fits this description!
4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in?
Frying pan
5. The piece of furniture that seats three people?
Sofa
6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof?
Gutter
7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening?
Patio maybe?
8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages?
Soft drinks, fizzy drinks. When I was littler (and more Northern) it was pop.
9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup?
Pancake if it’s thin and Scotch pancake if it’s thick, but I wouldn’t eat them for breakfast!
10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself?
Baguette
11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach?
Trunks
12. Shoes worn for sports?
Cross-trainers or tennis shoes if I’m being pedantic, trainers if not.
13. Putting a room in order?
Tidying up
14. A flying insect that glows in the dark?
Fire fly
15. The little insect that curls up into a ball?
No idea!
16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down?
Seesaw
17. How do you eat your pizza?
With a knife and fork in a restaurant or in slices with my fingers if it’s takeaway
18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
Erm, Ebay? :-p
19. What's the evening meal?
Argh! As much as the Yorkshire lass in me wants to assert that it is most definitely ‘tea’, I’m afraid I’ve been too long in the South and it is now ‘dinner’.
20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?
Ha ha ha. A cellar, and I don’t know many people in Britain who’d want to be recreational in one! They tend to have damp and a lot of mouldy storage boxes in them, in my experience.
21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places?
Water cooler, or water fountain, or tap :-)
